Mulgrave Marine Terminal

The Mulgrave Marine Terminal is owned and operated by Strait Superport and is located in the Town of Mulgrave, on the western shore of the Strait of Canso.

 The 2.8-hectare terminal is positioned to service the offshore oil and gas industry through its strategic location, excellent infrastructure, skilled workforce, and supply base services. The terminal also services a range of bulk and breakbulk cargo activities that require warehousing and lay-down area  at dockside. It also  serves the needs of marine construction projects on Canada’s east coast.

 

Berthage

  • Two berths available, a total 425 metres in length
  • North berth is 150 metres in length and the south berth is 275 metres 
  • North berth is equipped with a shore bollard to account for overhang while accommodating vessels longer than 150 metres
  • 9.3-metres plus tide depth along the north berth (depths along the south berth range from 10 to 6 metres moving southerly) 
  • Wharf length provides operational berthing for 2 to 3 vessels depending on vessel length, lay berthing activity, and draft requirement. 
  • Handymax bulk ships typically call at this facility.

 

Open Storage Area

Over 4 acres of fenced, lay down area adjacent to dockside.

Office and Warehouse Space

Individual office and warehouse space is available for lease.

Cargoes Handled

Typical cargoes handled at the Mulgrave Marine Terminal include, but are not limited to: road salt, aggregate, slag, kraft pulp, and fertilizer.  Total tonnage handled at this terminal — including imports, exports, and transshipments —over the last five years are shown in this chart.
